ISGO (english)
ISGO was established in 1993 to co-ordinate and accomplish the environmental tasks of the four municipalities on the island Goeree-Overflakkee.
In 2004 ISGO started initiating and co-ordinating the issue of integral development of the island. This was also called the broadening of the co-operation between the four municipalities.
The tasks of ISGO now withhold, amongst other things, enforcement of environmental laws and regulations as well as striving to maintain the alcohol and drug laws. In addition ISGO is responsible for (environmental) planning in the areas of:
- agriculture,
- water,
- recreation and tourism,
- economy,
- housing,
- education for adults,
- door-to-door-transport for the elderly and the handicapped,
- climate,
- road safety,
- domestic waste.
